The entire hoist was manufactured by A. L. Young Machinery Company in San Francisco, California
Has a label on side of the main frame

This rig was used by J. T. Thorp & Sons Inc. ( http://www.jtthorpe.com/ ) untill it was retired (thrown out).

The color yellow is not the color of a Fairbanks Morse engine of this vintage. That would be a dark green.
This engine is going back onto the the winch unit it came off of which was made by A. L.Young in San Francisco.
They bought bare engines from Fairbanks Morse and mounted them onto there equipment. It was then painted
this bright yellow (almost a Catapiller yellow). This engine was never dark green. Just primer and yellow.
