    1665

The Second Anglo-Dutch War takes place and lasts until 1667.

1665

Admiral Michiel Adriaansz de Ruyter retakes most of the WIC trading posts lost to English in Africa but aborts his plans to retake New Netherland.

1667
The Dutch at Kingston, New York rebelled against the English in what was later termed the Esopus Mutiny.

1672

The Third Anglo-Dutch War takes place and lasts until 1674.

1673

New York was captured by the Dutch navy. New York once again became New Netherland and was restored as a Dutch colony.

1674

The Peace of Westminster brought New Netherland back into English control and New Netherland becomes New York permanently.
