Nathaniel (or Nat) Clark was christened 14 September 1684 in Horsley, Gloucestershire, England, the son of William Clark. He married Elizabeth Hodgis 26 April 1703 in Dursley, Gloucestershire. Elizabeth was christened 2 November 1688 in Nympsfield, Gloucestershire, the daughter of John Hodges and Elizabeth Stockwell. Nat and Elizabeth had the following children:
 

1. Nat, christened 1 September 1704 in Dursley.
 

2. Michael, christened 22 May 1714 in Dursley.
 

3. Mary, christened 15 December 1716 in Dursley; married William Cowley 21 April 1731 in Cam, Gloucestershire.
 

4. James, christened 15 December 1716 in Dursley.
