Edward Jones was christened 20 September 1643 in Hirnant, the son of Morris Jones and Jane verch Morgan Thomas. Edward married Gras verch Thomas. 


Edward died and was buried 23 November 1687 in Hirnant.

Morris Jones was born in about 1620 of Hirnant. He married Jane verch Morgan Thomas (also called Jane Morgan), the daughter of Morgan Thomas ap Ieuan Vaughan.

Morris died in 1672, leaving an administration which mentioned his widow Jane Morgan. The bondsmen for the administration were Thomas Morris, weaver of Hirnant, and John Iwen of Oswestry in Shropshire.

The condicon of this obligation is such that if the abovebounden Jane Morgan relict & administratix of the goods chattels & creddits of Morris Jones late which he held of the pish of Hirnant in the County of Mountgomry & dioices of St Asaph yeoman her late husband deceased doe make or cause to be made a true and pfect inventory of all singular the goodes chattels and credittes of the said deceased which have or shall come to the handes possession or knowledge of her the said Jane Morgan or into the handes and possession of any other person or persons for her and the same soe made doe exhibite or cause to be exhibited into the Registry of the Consistory Court of St. Asaph at or before the feast day of John the Baptist next after his goodes chattels and credittes at the tyme of his death which at any tyme after shall come to the handes or possession of the said Jane Morgan or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons for her doe well and truly administer according to lawe…
